long time no update, wow.

well, its October and the year is coming to an end, and i'm moving towards new things once again. Since the beginning of the year, me and my dad have lived in a 2 bed/2 bath apartment here in Austin. And while the place is nice and OK, back in Feb, there was a fire that burned down the building behind us, so for the past two months, demolishion and construction and outdoor improvements have been happening.

Sounds good right? Well, not for us. You see, me and my dad work the 3rd shift, (graveyard) so during the day when all of these renovations and building are going on, we're just getting home and trying to get some sleep. Earplugs can only go so far. So, we've been apartment hunting the past months and we came across a little community down the road from where we live. Its tucked away and quiet and the whole living area feels so much better than the place we're in now.

I know im making it sound like its a horrible place to live, its not. Its perfect for a couple just starting out, or a student just starting out. But long term? nope.

Anyway, we found these apartments, and we're really looking into leasing with them for a year, and see how it works out. Because the plan would be, once my dad is tired of working, he's moving back home, and im staying with the apartment. And he wants to make sure that I can afford to keep living there on my own. (And if i want, move into a one bedroom) How will all of this happen? well, im currently going through background checks and drug testing to work as a temp-to-hire for Hospira, the company that my dad works for.
its a pharmaceutical plant where they manufacturer and make the solution and IV bags to be shipped out to hospitals all over the world.

Its a job with better hours, better pay, and thats whats going to help me get further and save more money to do things i want to do.

Speaking of things i want to do, with this new job, i'll be paying he difference on the rent, picking up bills, and of course, saving up for a new car, and a plane ticket to see melissa in april. im really shooting for her birthday, so that gives me April of next year. and perhaps stay for 4 days.

so im going to start budgeting things again, and i want to stay on top of things and not be broke anymore.
but yea, lots of things that are going to happen over the next few months and im excited.

anyway, i got my first paycheck and while its been a long time since ive gotten a paycheck, it still feels meh because i just spent a good bit on gas and then another to payback my mom for the things shes paid for me. grumble grumble

but, im also putting aside money for when i have friends over. melissa will be visiting me for the first time in august, and we're going to spend a day in san antonio at Six flags, enjoying the park and rides and such. its been forever since ive been there, so its going to be nice to see the place again.

but, i am thinking of doing commissions, just to have maybe something come in extra. (the other option is to get a second job that gives me the same flexability as this job, but i doubt i'll be that lucky.

also, in other news, dont let me near phones and water omg. ive dropped mine in water twice already and its just so adfasjl
i cant remember what big bangs i signed up for either, and wow this entry is just all over the place.

but, you know what. ive been thinking about splurging a little more, to see how much the star trek AOS audio book costs. just to have that to listen to while i work. 8)
its either that or the porn i have but yea, audiobook might be safer.

but there are a few purchases i want to get eventually, and thats a new starfleet science badge because my old one lost a peg so im scared about wearing all the time since its on my belt 24/7 (linking for future reference because like fuck am i going to pay 30 bucks for this.)

anyway, time for bed, i need sleep!

Hopefully that plays okay. Anyway, that was what my camera managed to capture while the town set off fireworks :D This year was very exciting and there was lots of celebrating going on. But because of recent things going on, we didn't get to buy the big fireworks like we usually do ahaha. Oh well. I'm sad this wasn't clear, but oh well.

So, I'm 41/125 pages into my dcbb and I am really enjoying it. I'm just concerned that I wont be able to come up with proper sketches soon. I'd like to have one from the beginning and middle-ish end of the story. In the meantime, I'm keeping my drawing arm in practice, and have been animating slightly again.

also, i wish LJ used cuts like dreamwidth. Also, I've been trying to clean up my LJ profile and layout, its time for something new.

Sooo, I signed up for the deancas big bang :DD I am..excited. not gonna lie. This will be my first big fandom challenge since the fanbook we did for death note.

Also, I'm thinking about gif/animation commissions, but how exactly would those be delivered? ):

yea, i guess i kinda do. i missed out on the SPN friending meme because i'm lame like that. i might fill out the form just for kicks, but i do have a lot of pics to upload here buuuh. thats what i like about tumblr, the easy access to uploading images (but the tagging system, OHGOD, dont even get me started on that. i still need to fix my tags HERE. mostly because i want to keep track of my drawings. ooops.

So, some personal things first. I applied for unemployment, and got granted funds. I need to keep a log of three possible job applications that i've applied for, every week, for audits. Not bad actually, specially with the holidays coming around. I kinda want to apply at the chocolate store, because i've started to have this weird fascination with cooking and being a chef. I dont know why, it's just one of those phases actually. i'm looking forward to calling a secondary school called Mid-Valley Academy for a teachers aid. they're asking for someone with an associates in art. so, why not. only concern there, is that this is a secondary school, and it's for the difficult kids. I don't know what to expect really. But hey, it's a job, right? I also need to apply for finaid, and see if i can go to school in the spring semester. I really need to file that asap. I'll call up Dad tomorrow. and, i want to take a jewelry making class. i really loved the metal work i did a few years back. i like working with my hands.

GISHWHES and other things

So, I've been unemployed since Oct 29th and can i just say, that it's been an amazing, stress-free week ever? i mean, seriously. between the fights with my mother, the lack of money, plus bank closings and other shit that i'm glad i'm not dealing with anymore, i'm happy to be out of it for the moment. I may not have income, but i'm finding it relaxing and theraputic to be just cleaning the house, cleaning out my car, my closet, yardwork. to actually get down and dirty and see something accomplished rather than just count out money in amounts that will never be yours.

cause i mean seriously, seeing over $160,000 on a daily basis is pretty damn depressing. it really is. especially when you got paid $7.52 for under 40 hours. Yea.

Anyway, fun stuff is being done. Me and my sister, along with christine and a few other girls from around the US, are going to be participating in an international scavenger hunt, to break and make a world record.

there's gonna be 500 teams, so, we're not guarenteed the teammates we requested. but, if we are, and we get all the people listed already, its a strong team. i'm really amped for this. it feels like a creative experiment with art. and i must say, this is the one time i'm happy i kept my books from art history.

winner of the scavenger hunt? a round-trip ticket to Rome, to have dinner with Misha Collins. Rome is a beautiful city, Gina keeps telling me that I need to visit one day. She loved the time she spent there, and if i can be in the winning team, and visit the place where art and history are everywhere and ohgod, i would be happy for the rest of my life. i've seen Gina's pictures from her time there, and shit. i want to visit. so bad. i would love to win this.

TV SHOWS AND SHIT.

Walking Dead, FUCKING AMAZING. Each new twist is perfect and i'm starting to see bits of the comic start to bleed in, and i'm going, "you know what, they did a good job with this show." and the gore level is amped up even more. This week's zombie kill had me going "OHMYGOD. OH..OH NO. Oh no no no." This isn't a show to be eating and watching LOL.

Hell on Wheels. I've said this on tumblr, but, it didn't quite catch my attention. The fight scenes did, which was something nice. I think i need to rewatch it, or give it a few more episodes. I feel like this is a slow start to a good series. AMC, you impress me.

Dexter. This season, by far, is the best one since the Trinity Killer. I'm on the edge of my seat every episode, and I love it. It's the old Dexter, its the kills, and the theme of the whole season has me completley. I'm just about to settle in and watch this past Sunday's episode. According to my dad's text, its a very very very very good one. (i still have to finish reading Dearly Devoted Dexter. I have the time now, so yay!)

Supernatural. Okay, I'm watching this along with fandom, and can i just say, its refreshing to watch somethng current with fandom? I was caught up by the time the season started, I felt heartbroken about what they did to Castiel, and its feeling all very Season 1 and 2 right now. The kills are getting gory and lots of blood everywhere. I dont think i remember that much in the previous seasons. i already have my favorites, and i'm doing a very good job at staying away from spoilers.

Grimm. I saw the first two episodes today, and i am very very interested in this show. it reminds me of Charmed and the whole 'coming into the family buisness' (pff, actually, that would be EVERY show you watch cathy. geeze.) except its with cops. so, if supernatural and charmed and castle had a baby, it seems like Grimm would be it. my mom seems to like it very much, so i think fridays after Supernatural are going to be very interesting

Also, can i just say, that jenny is the cutest person ever and i need to visit australia at some point to just squeeze and dlskajflakf with her? :D i had gotten a cute little side purse(shoulder purse? satchel?) and i use it every day and just alkdjalkjf i love it.

i think my zombie dreams are pretty logical by now LOLOL

okay, off to watch Dexter. LOVE YOU ALL

Okay, so... I don't think I'm going to be able to do Realmscon this year. Which is a bummer because I would have loved to have finished Nero and meet with Tom Felton ):

As of right now, that just doesn't seem possible due to budgeting. I'll try to complete Nero for another con, and maybe have it all ~~~finished~~~ by then ):
